Membership Application Forms

Membership applicants must possess a Masters' degree or higher qualification from a recognized University or equivalent academic institution. Prospective new members must be sponsored by two members in good standing, whose names must be indicated on the official membership application form. Submit a full Curriculum Vitae and payment to cover subscription for the first two years, or, if applicable, lump sum payment of the Life Membership fee.

Life Membership

Members make their membership permanent by paying a lump sum equivalent to 10 years at the existing Full Membership rate. Life Members enjoy all the rights and privileges of Full Membership, without being required to pay any further subscription fees to the Society.


Ordinary (Full) Membership

This category carries the right to stand for office, to vote in elections, and to fully participate in the business of the Society. Full members qualify for reduced registration fees at Meetings of the Society. Full Membership requires payment of the two-year membership subscription (currently $25 per year) with renewal every two years. Note that speakers invited to Meetings of the Society are automatically entitled to two free years of Full Membership.


Free 2-year Corresponding Membership

The ISE is inviting interested scientists to join the ISE for 2 years without paying any membership fee (Corresponding Members). Please download the ISE membership application and select "corresponding membership" and then either fax or send a PDF of your application to the Executive Secretary and Treasurer, Dr. Michael Oellerich (michael.oellerich@med.uni-goettingen.de)


Corporate Membership

Available to industrial or commercial enterprises for 5-year terms.


Emeritus Membership

Available to Full Members who have been in good standing for the past five consecutive years and have reached retirement. The subscription fee is one-half of the existing rate for Full Membership.


Honorary Membership

This category is awarded by the Board without fee to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to Enzymology.
Present and past Honorary Members have included Nobel Laureates Severo Ochoa, Arthur Kornberg and Christian de Duve.
